Paul was first certified in 1996 and later developed an interest in technical diving in 2005 as a way to spend more time exploring the many wrecks and scenic dive areas. It wasnt long after that when Paul started diving a Drager in order to extend his no decompression limits and stay down longer.
Based in New Zealand, Paul investigated a variety of rebreathers before finally deciding on the KISS systems. He chose KISS due to the extreme reliability of the units which have been tried, tested and proven over 12 years. As KISS Rebreathers is based in Canada, Paul knew that being a long way from support meant that he had to decide on a rebreather which was reliable and durable. It was also important for him to have a rebreather which was simple & easy to maintain. After 100 hours on his Sport KISS without a single issue, Paul started diving the KISS Explorer in order to do the deeper trimix dives and explore the deeper wrecks.
Paul is a TDI OC Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor and a TDI CCR Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor for the KISS rebreathers.
Anyone who has talked with him for more than a few minutes will know...
